Shakira in a soccer frame of mind

Colombian superstar Shakira got to hang with her novio and do a good deed on Monday at the BankUnited Center.
The singer and soccer star Gerard Pique unveiled a plan to create the Soccer for Youth Development and Healthy Living project to benefit more than 28,000 local kids.
It’s a joint project of her nonprofit, Pies Descalzos (Barefoot), and the charitable arm of the FC Barcelona soccer club. The goal is to convert the YMCA at 6881 NW 179th St. into a sports facility.
The glamour couple did not take questions, but the Hips Don’t Lie singer did tell reporters: “For 13 years I’ve seen that education is the most efficient tool for changing a child’s future and that of his or her family as well.’’
Last summer, Shakira announced she was splitting with her lawyer boyfriend of 10 years Antonio de la Rua, who is the oldest son of former Argentine president Fernando de la Rua. Soon after, she was spotted with Spanish footballer Pique, 24, and confirmed their relationship in March, calling the FC player her “sunshine’’ on Twitter.

CRIME CENTRAL
Some say there’s definitely something shady about the police officer shooting at 12th and Collins on South Beach, so imagine how you’d feel if you lived in that neighborhood? We’d love to ask Sir Richard Branson, because he does. We discovered that, contrary to images of a grandiose beach pad, the bazillionaire actually owns the penthouse at The Islander, located at 1255 Collins Ave. Registered under his wife Joan’s name, the apartment was bought in 2009 for a bargain (for Branson, anyway) $399k.
The building is far from a place you’d expect a mogul to call home, with a nonfunctioning pool on the rooftop among other amenities. When he bought the place, Branson told a fellow resident that he dislikes buildings with doormen, valet parking, concierges, etc., and that he doesn’t want people to know his comings-and-goings. Oops.
And get this: Branson’s not the first rich guy to live there. Rumor has it that hotelier Ian Schrager was the penthouse’s previous owner.
